On October 4, 2011 International Finance Corporation (IFC), provided a $1.5 million loan to Tbilvino to establish wine primary plant in Kvareli district of Kakheti region.

IFC’s credit line is a part of Tbilvino’s $3 million investment program aimed to progress the company development. The establishment of the primary plant is designated to augment Tbilvino’s production capacity to satisfy the increased demand on Tbilvino’s wines on export markets, enhance product quality, and boost competitiveness both on local and international markets.

On December 22, 2011 the official results of Terravino Alcoholic Beverage Contest were announced on the gala dinner in Jerusalem, Israel where Tbilvino’s Tsinandali white dry wine vintage 2009 was awarded with Silver medal.

 

Terravino 2011 is one of the world-scale contests which takes place annually in Jerusalem, Israel under the patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (O.I.V). The beverage degustation process in the contest is conducted by the group of experienced Sommeliers under the leadership of Professor Raoul Castelani.

Tbilvino’s Saperavi red dry wine, vintage 2010 was awarded with Silver medal at International Wine Challenge Catavinum 2011 (IWCC) held in December in Spain.

International wine competitions such as IWCC 2011 facilitate the information flow between consumers and wine professionals on the quality of the winning wines. It serves as a significant orientation for consumers in their purchase decision and very valuable tool for the wine connoisseurs, importers and distributors worldwide as it provides essential international references on wines.

The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition is a unique event and the first of its kind. Run in partnership with the London-based International Wine & Spirit Competition, which has been running for 40 years and is the world’s premier platform for recognizing quality in the industry, the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition is created specifically for the Asian market by those who know and are intimately involved in the region.

2-4, November, 2011 - the International Exhibition Centre of Kiev hosted international specialized wine exhibition “WinExpo Ukraine”. Tbilivino was offered an opportunity to participate in the expo along with other Georgian wine making companies. The expo was made through the support of Vine and Wine Department “Samtrest”.

IFC provided a $1.5 million loan  to Tbilvino to support company further development.

 

Tbilvino wines won 2 Silver and 1Bronze at China Wine Awards in Hong Kong

On September 23 Tbilvino hosted world class wine opinion leaders to conduct a wine master class and blind tasting.

1-5 September, 2011 – Tbilvino participated at the European Specialty (Foods and Farm Products) Promotion Exhibition which took place in Urumchi, China.

June 13, Stockholm, Sweden – Tbilivno president Mr. George Margvelashvili gave a comprehensive presentation at Cedergren’s Tower in Stockholm and introduced company history and wine portfolio to the representatives of HoReCa, wine clubs, wine experts, press and media. The guests of the event had an opportunity to taste delicious wines produced by Tbilvino.

On June 3, 2011, parallel to the 4^th International Wine and Spirits Fair – WinExpo 2011, the 3^rd Georgia International Wine Award took place. The event was organized by Exhibition Center ExpoGeorgia Co.  It was the first competition in Georgia that was held under the patronage of International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and was carried in accordance with the OIV recommended principles and standards- the results were revealed due to the blind tastings.

17-19 May, 2011 London - through the facilitations of Georgian Wine Association Tbilvino participated at the most prestigious London International Wine Fair taking place in London’s ExCel  center.

The LIWF is the one of the primary exhibitions attracting  buyers from every aspect of the industry.  London International Wine Fair and this is the best practice for capturing sales leads from Beverage trade shows.

Tbilvino is one of the major sponsors of  Georgian Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 (GFW) held at Shota Rustaveli National Academic Theatre between March 31 – April 3, 2011.

 

27-29 March, 2011 Dusseldorf – Tbilvino once again featured its delicious wines at the leading International wine and spirits trade fair held in Dusseldorf, Germany. The participation of Tbilvino at the ProWein 2011 was made possible through the support from the Georgian Wine Association.

 

Tbilisi, March 14, 2011 – Marketing and Research company - Global Idea and newspaper The Financial, with the support of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and American Chamber of Commerce jointly held the 6th Annual Award Ceremony of Golden Brand which has been conducted annually since 2006. It is deemed to be the most prestigious and influential business awards in Georgia.

Krakow, Poland– hosted 8^th professional wine-focused International Trade Fair ENOEXPO in Targi w Krakowie Exhibition Center between 17-19 November, 2010.  The ENOEXPO offered  a perfect opportunity to wine producing companies to showcase their produce and helped wine buyers and professionals  become acquainted with new brands, make valuable business contracts, and take part in enological training courses and wine presentations.

 

Canada’s premier Gourmet Food and Wine Expo hosted leading Georgian wine making companies, including Tbilvino, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto from November 18 through November 21, 2010. The annual food and wine expo offered thousands of connoisseurs and amateurs an unparalleled opportunity to sample over 1,500 fine wines and spirits from around the globe.

 

Georgian Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with Vine and Wine Department “Samtrest” facilitated the participation of few Georgian wineries at Wine for Asia expo held in Singapore between October 28-29, 2010.

The 5th Golden Brand Annual Award Ceremony was held in March 2010. Ceremony was supported by marketing research company “Global Idea”, The Financial, Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and American Chamber of Commerce.
